Engineer - Solar

Perform site assessments (solar irradiance, shading analysis, structural considerations) • Design and size PV systems using software tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope) • Prepare single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and layout drawings • Technical Documentation • Develop technical specifications and tender documents for equipment and services • Calculate energy yield, payback periods, and ROI models • Ensure compliance with DEWA/FEWA grid‐interconnection guidelines and UAE regulations • Project Coordination & Support • Liaise with procurement to source PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and balance-of-system components • Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain project schedules • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and change orders • Installation & Commissioning • Provide on‐site technical supervision during installation to ensure workmanship quality • Oversee system testing, commissioning, and handover procedures • Troubleshoot performance issues and implement corrective measures • Operation & Maintenance (O&M) • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for PV systems • Analyze system performance data, identify under‐performing assets, and recommend optimizations • Support warranty claims and vendor coordination for defective components • Health, Safety & Quality • Ensure all solar projects adhere to company HSE policies and ISO 9001 quality standards • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safe work practices on site • Continuous Improvement • Stay current on advances in solar technology, energy storage integration, and industry best practices • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness

Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent is a plus • Experience: • 6-10 years of hands-on experience in solar PV design and execution • Proven track record of projects in utility-scale, commercial, or industrial sectors • Technical Proficiency: • PV system design software (PVsyst, Helioscope, SolarPro) • AutoCAD, PV*Sol, SketchUp or similar CAD tools • Familiarity with SCADA/BMS for renewable energy systems • Regulatory Knowledge: • DEWA/FEWA grid‐interconnection and net‐metering requirements • Local building codes and electrical safety standards • Soft Skills: • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic proficiency is an advantage) • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
